Things To Do...
There’s so much to do in Dorset that if you’re bored you should probably see a Doctor. You may be dead!
As well as the attractions and places to see listed elsewhere on dorsetcamper.com you can do everything from falling off cliffs for fun, to fishing, walking, sailing, Zorbing, cycling, bird-watching, diving, swimming, windsurfing, kite-surfing, kite-flying, paragliding, gliding, flying and a host of other sports and activities. You know, the usual suspects like football, rugby, netball, hockey, tennis, golf, cricket, speedway, hop-scotch, skipping and falling asleep behind a paper or a book. There’s also the Weymouth International Beach Volleyball tournament every year. Lots of these activities can be done free-of-charge if you have you’re own kit - if you need any at all. But if you want to try out something new then there are plenty of ways to get a taster of a new activity and plenty of people ready to help you out. In any event, whether you’re new to an activity or an old hand, it's always worth getting in touch with people with local knowledge. At worst it might help you get more out of your chosen activity. At best it may save you a few quid. In extreme it may save your neck. Dorset is beautiful, but be warned, in places its coastline can be treacherous. Be careful where you swim, climb, sail or fly. And always check whether you need permission to be where you want to go. Land may be privately owned and even areas of the sea may be closed-off to keep you safe (for example behind rifle and gunnery ranges). So if in doubt, check it out! |
